Will Limited Foreign Language Credits Hurt Admission Odds?

Question: My student (a 9th grader) is grappling with how many several years of spanish to take high college. Being a mom of a senior school sophomore, my advice could be, “Let your kid take what excites her most, as long as she fulfills minimum language needs.”

But, being a university therapist, my answer is various. I don’t see any trend toward reducing spanish expectations.
